How Does Disputebee Work?

Disputebee Review

Disputebee has a three step process to help you access your credit report and dispute items to improve your credit score.

Step 1 Credit Report

Before you start the credit repair process you will need to import your credit report. You can get your free credit report here and the Disputebee software will walk your through how to access to your clients credit report, how to import it into the Disputebee software, and how to monitor the report for any changes.

Step 2 Dispute Letters

After you have imported and accessed the credit report, you can choose which items you would like to dispute such as inaccurate collections, hard inquiries, late payments, bankruptcies and more.

Disputebee will automatcially generate the dispute letters for you so all you need to do is print it out and mail them to the credit bureaus.

Step 3 Track Your Progress

Once you mail out your first round of letters to the credit bureaus(Experian, Equifax, and TransUnion) you will wait for their response and then upload it into Disputebee. It might take multiple rounds of letters with the credit bureaus to see any items get removed or for information to be corrected. Can Disputebee Remove Hard Inquiries?

Yes, Disputebee can help you remove hard inquiries. Companies need your consent in order to access your credit, if they don’t they are violating a federal law called the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). So if a company pulls your credit without your consent they must remove those inquiries from your credit report.

If you have a few hard inquiries on your credit report it won’t impact your credit score very much. However, if you have 10 inquiries within the last two years it could lowering your credit score by 70 points as each hard inquiry is between 3 to 7 points.

When you pull your credit report and you notice you have several hard inquires that you don’t recognize you can use Disputebee to send dispute letters to the credit bureaus explaining that you don’t recognize these hard inquires so a company accessed your credit without your knowledge.

If you have proof a hard inquiry was done without your knowledge send a copy of the proof with your dispute letter to help your case. When you send your dispute letter you must also request a physical letter via certified mail requesting your authorization documents that you consented to this hard inquiry. Otherwise the credit bureaus might just send you an automated response that you must dispute this inquiry with the creditor that pulled your credit.

The credit bureaus must provide you with the proof within 30 days otherwise the hard inquiry must be removed from your credit report.

Can Disputebee Remove Late Payments?

Yes, Disputebee can help you remove late payments from your credit report. Payment history is the biggest factor credit bureaus use when creating your credit score. If you have any late payments, missed payments or partial payments this can drastically lower your credit score. Payment history makes up 35% of your FICO score.

To avoid late payments or missed payments always try to pay on-time by setting up automatic payments. Make sure you only spend what you can afford on your credit score so you aren’t sitting on so much debt and getting deeper in the hole. If you have a lot of credit card debt that you are paying interest on try applying for a no-interest credit card or apply for a consolidation loan to lower your payments.

When you are looking through your credit report you want to look at the payments to see if there is any incorrect remarks or old payments.

A late payment on your credit report will last for 7 years at most. If you notice any late payments that are older than 7 years old you can dispute this item to the credit bureaus.

Incorrect remarks could include late payments that you made on-time but were marked as late, or any missed payments that you know you paid. Sometimes humans make mistakes and that is why it’s important to check your credit report thoroughly so these mistakes won’t lower your credit score.

If you notice any incorrect payment information on your credit report send in a copy of the proof with a dispute letter from Disputebee stating the mistake and ask it to be removed. The credit bureaus must respond to your request within 30 days and they need to verify that all the item you are disputing is verifiable and accurate. If they don’t, it must be removed from your credit report.

Can You Dispute Accurate Late Payments?

While you can’t dispute anything from your credit report that is 100% accurate, even it is hurting your credit score, there is another option you can do to try and remove late payments.

Goodwill Letter

A goodwill letter is a letter stating the reason for the late payment and explaining how this isn’t the norm and won’t happen again. There is a chance that the creditor might be kind enough to remove the late payment from your credit report. There is no guarantee that they will remove the item but it is better than waiting 7 years for it to fall off your credit report.

Can Disputebee Remove Collections?

Yes, Disputebee can help you remove collections from your credit report. Having collections on your credit report can lower your credit score drastically, as payment history makes up the majority of your entire credit score. Chances are if you have collections show up on your credit report you will be denied for personal loans, home loans, auto loans, and new credit cards. Most collections will stay on your credit report for 7 years.

So how can you remove collections from your credit report?

To remove collections from your credit report you can leverage consumer laws such as the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) and the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). With these two laws you can hold the credit bureaus and collection agencies accountable for the collections they report.

When you dispute a collection the credit bureau and collection agency must prove that the collection being disputed is complete and accurate. If they fail to provide you with this information, they are required by law to remove this item from your credit report.

Collection agencies must provide documentation that they are legally allowed to collect this debt from you, prove the debt is within the statue of limitation, prove the information is accurate and the balances are correct. If they fail to provide you with proof they must remove the collection completely.

You can use Disputebee to automatically generate a dispute letter and mail it to the credit bureaus and collection agency through mail so a person will have to take a look at it and do the research to provide the proof.
